Thomas C. Childree aka “Papa Shizzle”,53, died Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at Oceanside Health and Rehab under the care of hospice, his ex-wife Christina Childree, family and friends.
He was born December 8, 1964 in Savannah, Georgia at St. Joseph's Hospital and lived in Rincon, Georgia.
He graduated from Union County, Lake Butler High School.
Following his schooling Chris joined The U.S. Army. He was Stationed at Fort Drum, NY, home of the 10th Mountain Division. He was in the 1st of The 7th Field Artillery and was a Sergeant, Forward Observer. He also did a tour in Panama.
He later became a correctional officer and retired from Georgia Pacific where he worked as a machinist. He also was employed by Randall's Liquor Store for many many years.
He enjoyed being with his family and friends celebrating together, cooking his Southern Specialties, Low Country Boil Stew and Chicken and Rice. He enjoyed grilling, football and NASCAR. He enjoyed off shore fishing, being on the water and tubing with his kids.
Surviving are his ex-wife Lisa Dalton, sons Thomas Childree and Michael Scott, ex-wife Christina Childree, her daughters Jessica Hadden, and Brianna Hadden; A true friend Traci Sizemore from beginning to end; his father Patrick W. Castlen and his wife Irene, brother Bill Castlen and his wife Jessica, and sisters Angela Castlen, Katrina R. Crawford and her husband Sean Crawford.
Chris was preceded in death by his mother Ann L. Castlen.
Services will be held at a later date and will be announced by Riggs Funeral Home.
